We the undersigned call on JJ Richards to do the following:
• Recognise that their workers have the right to be members of a union,
• Recognise that their workers have the right to be represented in the workplace by their union,
• Recognise that their workers have a right to ask for a collective, union agreement,
• Cease stalling tactics to avoid negotiating with their workforce, and
• Enter into negotiations in good faith with their workers for a collective agreement.
We the undersigned also call on the Local Government Association to:
• Facilitate joint information sessions between councils and the union, before waste contracts go out to tender to ensure that Councils understand their obligations under the law and can make decisions in accordance with it.
