Workers and their families say "Don't trash our jobs!"

I’ve just returned from the waste industry protest at Sydney Town Hall. We had 50 rubbish bins out the front, covered in our 'Don’t trash our jobs!' posters. There was a great turn-out from members and their families, and we received plenty of support from the public. My message to the people of Sydney and the assembled media was simple: Lord Mayor Clover Moore treats us, and them, with contempt. While she is off dividing her attention between two jobs, URM employees have lost 200 bucks a week, plus their entitlements. This campaign against the scourge of lowest-cost contracting is far from over - and as we marched through the middle of Sydney today, roaring our lungs out and banging the bin lids, I bet City of Sydney is cottoning on to that fact. Below is a photo-essay of the event.
