WSN members vote on EBA with resounding support
The union has been fighting for members at WSN since the privatisation of the waste management company was announced earlier this year.
WSN members have now voted on their enterprise agreement and spoke loud and clear in support of it. 272 people voted and an overwhelming 247 supported the proposed agreement.
Through the strength of the TWU negotiating committee, delegates and members across all WSN sites, we have secured a strong enterprise agreement which delivers:
• Amongst the best rates of pay in the waste industry; and
• The strongest industrial rights and conditions for waste workers nationally.
Workers’ conditions have been secured through a number of measures in the agreement, including: casual conversion after six months; redundancy arrangements locked in for all current employees which will remain in place with any new employer; disputes clause for all employment issues and site rates for labour and outside hire.
