Hundreds of TWU members at Australia’s largest transport and distribution site, Toll Ipec Moorebank, expressed their solidarity with their Toll workmates in the US on 12 July: unanimously passing a motion to demand a better deal and fair go for their US workmates.

The floor was packed out at the meeting at Toll’s Moorebank site, a heavy duty union site where all workers, numbering over 400, are in the TWU.

Our members took a stand for their workmates in the US, endorsing a motion unanimously to express solidarity with their Toll workmates in the US working at the Ports: who are being forced to endure appalling pay and conditions, no basic amenities and intimidation not to become union.

TWU Senior Official Michael Aird said,

“This is what the same companies you work for in Australia will do when they can get away with it. The only way to stop them doing you over is through union power.”
