DHL Victory!
On 6th October Fair Work Australia confirmed the TWU’s rightful
coverage of DHL distribution centres. These workers are part of the
supply chain, an integral feature of Australia’s transport industry, and
now due to FWA’s decision can choose to be represented alongside over
100, 000 transport workers across the nation.
This is recognition of the numerous roles employees play in carrying Australia in the transport Industry and the importance of ensuring workers get the choice to be union and not dictated to by their employers.
This is a great win for both DHL workers and the union. Union membership and representation all along the supply chain is critical to keeping the transport industry fair. The power that comes from the TWU controlling both ends of the supply chain means greater bargaining strength for members and that is what we are all about.
